Interesting book, was up till 3am finishing it. Enjoyed the beginning not quite knowing where it would go and shocked at the change but really got into the characters after a while. Didn't enjoy the ending and wanted to know to those left behind. Will invest in the second book to see if it finalises a few details. It was a good read for what it was.
I didnt really enjoy this book and found it slightly frustrating. Two characters have the same name (Julie the sister and Julie the nurse/friend) small typos, repeated conversations etc. The book is a third too long and too repetitive, the characters just go from one disaster to the next.
I agree with David Blake's review. The dialogue didn't flow and was repetitive so a little hard to read. Other characters need to be developed more and agree poor Ginny is in hospital and doesn’t even rate a call or visit? A good edit and this would be a good book.
I couldn't finish this book. There are annoying typos, the main characters named was Kare for a while! Too much detail about how NZ school system is run.
What annoyed me the most was after Chrissy's attack and all these women (the wife, Karla and now Chrissy) letting him get away with attacking women for years. When Chrissy turned to Karla for help she never mentioned the same thing nearly happened to her the year previously. Just couldn't read any more.
It was an ok story but I really hate when you read a book to find out its half a story. How hard is it for the author to include Part One in the blurb or title? Won't be waiting for the sequel to be written.
I enjoyed this book a lot. I wasn't aware it was part of a series when I downloaded it and even though it mid way through the series it didn't detract from this story. I particularly enjoyed the historical aspects and the romances were well written. Will be reading more in this series soon, thanks for making this book free.
