Eva Acharya

Biography

It might interest you to know that I was born in Nepal, and raised somewhat nomadically in three countries: Nepal, New Zealand, and Australia. I've always been a storyteller from memory, but really only started writing stories since I was 12 as an effort to perfect my English in New Zealand.

Funny thing is, I started out with Bollywood styled melodramatic love stories (as you do, being a teenager), but eventually found that I had no genre I loved to write specifically. My first novel, In Strange Company, is an action/adventure, whereas my second novel, Rule of Thirds (currently in final draft) is a romance.

I currently have a comedy underway, along with a fantasy and a drama. So to say I love writing particular stories would be a lie.
I also have great interest in filmmaking, so am endeavouring to see if I can tell stories in the visual medium. My dream? Let's just say I wish to see myself as a established writer/director.

Smashwords Interview

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Creating. I love creating an entire world in which characters get to play out their dreams and fantasy, and through them, I get to enjoy a world quite different to my own.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything. Cliched, I know, but it is the truth. Without fans there really isn't much sense in the title 'author'. I mean, it's like putting on a show but without an audience.
