A very thought-provoking novel highlighting the struggles and battles of a group of women to achieve recognition and acceptance in what was then a very much male dominated world. To benefit from it fully, one must try and put oneself in their place, seeing the inequalities and unfairness that was all too often part of their lives. The frustration they must have experienced comes across strongly. A must to read.
