Tom Rosales

Biography

Meet Tom! He would describe himself as creative and quiet, yet most times articulate, and able to think pretty well. He’s lived in Wisconsin since 1997, hailing originally from northern Minnesota (way up dere.)

He currently lives in Portage because it’s “quieter, safer and cheaper,” and is a recent convert to Green Bay Packers fandom. Tom has a few nick-names, but they’re not nice (that’s a joke.) Joking aside, Tom loves his family, has been practicing martial arts since he moved to Madison, and enjoys creative pursuits of all sorts. More description to follow.

Hometown? Born in the bustling metropolis of Crookston, MN (not a bustling metropolis) – Grew up in several small towns in Minnesota before moving to Wisconsin and eating lots of cheese.

What’s the weirdest thing you have ever eaten? The pile of fermented beans coated in stringy stuff called “natto,” a Japanese delicacy. That and seasoned Mexican cow-brains in a tortilla. Mmm.

Are you messy or organized? In my mind, or outside of it?

What was your first car? A crappy (yet free) Pontiac Sunbird, complete with a busted motor mount and a 0-60 time of about 3 days.

Three words that describe you? Cool. As. Cucumber.

Who is one person in history you would like to meet and why? Nikola Tesla, so we could throw a few ideas around together over a nice coffee.

Cat or Dog? I take that day by day. It depends on whether I’ve watched the “Dog Whisperer” or “My Cat From Hell” that day.

If your life was turned into a movie, what actor would play you? Steven Seagal.

Do you have a lucky number? When my income reaches 200k, then that’ll be my lucky number.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Blizzard Blue, simply because it’s awesome, and blizzard-ey.

What was your best vacation? The first of like two ever: the one where my wife and I had a room with a hot tub and fireplace and a million TV channels. These are things I don’t have.

Is there anywhere you want to travel to you haven’t yet? Several. Portland, OR, Asheville, NC, England, Ireland, Japan and South Korea.

If your house was burning down, what is the one thing you would save? Anyone still inside, including my adorable animals.

Favorite quote: Daniel: Hey, what kind of belt do you have?
Miyagi: Canvas. JC Penney, $3.98. You like?
Daniel: [laughs] No, I meant…
Miyagi: In Okinawa, belt mean no need rope to hold up pants.
