Francoise Jewell

Biography

Hello - I currently live on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia. I work as a counsellor and social advocate with people who have been victims of crime.
I was born in Singapore where I spent the first 3 years of my life before my father was transferred back to the UK. We moved every 2-3 years to various towns in Scotland and England. Our holidays were spent visiting relatives in Switzerland and Greece. My father was English, my mother a French Greek woman, raised in Egypt. As a teenager, readers of Daddy I'm on the run" will know I lived in France, Belgium and the Netherlands as well as visiting Spain, Andorra, Italy, Sweden and Denmark.
I emigrated to Australia aged 19 but returned to England after meeting my first husband. We then lived in Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, Iran, Canary Islands and Kenya before resettling in Australia in 1980.
Needless to say travel and appreciation of alternative cultures and lifestyles are the riches I have gained from my nomadic lifestyle.
Hope people from all over the world will enjoy my work.
Hugs
Francoise

Smashwords Interview

What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Radio interviews have stimulated interest and sales. Word of mouth recommendations have also been successful marketing tools. I have had some success with direct sales at writer festivals.
Describe your desk
My writing desk is a cheap 'put it together yourself' white desk covered with a beautiful silk carpet featuring a wonderful lion proudly walking through the jungle. My walls are flamingo pink and my floor is polished wood. In my room my three dogs all have their favourite spot to wait until it's time for a break and a possible walk. I have my windows open and hear the sounds of parrots, kookaburras and finches as I work. Rich greenery in the garden attracts my eyes as I pause for thought.
