Keffler's ability to inspire through the written word is revealed in this rich historical work. The characters come to life reflecting the depth and perplexity of human nature. However, it is not only their individual journeys and relationships that holds one's interest, but also each part they play on a grander scale as Keffler weaves the story together from a historical and spiritual perpective. I was simultaneously educated and entertained as I read this novel and look forward with anticipation to reading Keffler's next work.
