Julie Embleton

Fáilte! (That's the Irish for welcome!)We don't get a lot of sunshine here in Ireland so to keep me feeling sunny, I write, although, not as much as I'd like to because I have a paid job that keeps me away from my laptop . . . damned responsibilities.
Here are some random things that I like and don't like:
Like: The smell of freshly-washed laundry blowing in the wind; my daughter's laugh; having warm feet; the colour of my dog's eyes; cooing wood pigeons.
Don't like: warm milk; liquorice; having cold feet; the smell of goats; drying off with a wet bath towel.

I dream of becoimg a published author and when I do it will be another thing ticked off my bucket list. It's an ever-changing list and for fun I'm going to share it here - not all of it, though, some things are just for me to know!

Thanks for taking time to check in on my profile.

Giddygoat's Bucket List.

1. See the Northern Lights
2. Stroke a Tiger
3. Travel the USA
4. Ride a motorbike - a proper one, like a big growly Harley
5. Own an Audi TT
6. Get published

Smashwords Interview

Who are your favorite authors?
I have a strange mix of favorite authors! I love Emily Bronte and George Eliot. Charles Dickens' works draw me back again and again . . . I've lost count of how many times I've read Great Expectations. Of a more recent era I follow Margaret Atwood, JK Rowling, and many of the authors that write for the young adult genre such as Sarah Rees Brennan and Lauren Kate. Saying that, I've enjoyed so many fantastic reads over the years that there wouldn't be enough space for me to list them all. Any author that holds my attention and leaves me thinking about their characters long after I've closed the book is on my favorite list - even if I can't remember their names right now!
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I have a daughter - that's reason enough to inspire me out of bed each day! I do like to plan out the day in my head before I get up, though. Once I know what I'm at it tends to motivate me to get vertical. The only time I bury myself back under the duvet is if I've been writing into the wee small hours and have frazzled my brain; then I'm definitely a lot slower about flinging back the blankets . . .
