Judi Groves Yazmin Wood

Biography

Judi is a teaching artist with a Med in Art-Based Research. While serving as an Artist-in-Education she worked with at-risk youth using the creative process to make learning fun. She is a published author and has taught students at all levels including using interactive television. She is a participating member of Gallery 1001 in Winfield (KS). When not teaching, she is creating art! Her artist statement is “I do not create to live; I live to create.” She is a former Executive Director of the Arkansas City Area Arts Council. She resides in south-central Kansas with her family.

A Seattle native, Yazmin was transplanted to the Midwest where she now resides with her family in south-central Kansas. A believer of “bloom where you’re planted,” Yazmin has leveraged her creative experience as a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer. She served as President/CEO of the Arkansas City Area Chamber of Commerce and earned her Masters in Business Administration from Southwestern College in Winfield (KS). Combining creativity with the critical thinking skills, Yazmin embraces leadership and entrepreneurism in developing projects that impact the world around her!
