Ellen Sutherland


Biography

Ellen has worked with groups, individuals and students in a teaching and clinical setting since the late 1980′s. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She spent ten years in this role as a teacher and pain and stress-management consultant for a rehabilitation company as well as in her own practice. Her work with individuals and groups has addressed various forms of pain: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Her current focus is solely on spiritual evolution and the integration of spiritual practice into daily living.

She trained at Scarborough General Hospital, Child and Family Clinic, in play therapy and adolescent art therapy and focused on working with emotionally disturbed children and their families.

She has considerable experience in the design and delivery of workshops and courses that revolve around topics such as:

Meditation
Stress Management and Relaxation
Assertiveness Training
Forgiveness
Spiritual Principles
Breath Therapy
Tapping Therapy
Spiritual Processing

In 1985, Ellen trained in Therapeutic Touch and Reiki. In 1994 she was initiated as a 5th generation teacher and master of Reiki. It has been her sole energy work of choice. She teaches first and second degree classes, and has trained and initiated three Masters.

2008 she completed level I and II EFT with Dr. P. Carrington.

In 2010 she finished and published At Your Heart’s Pace: An Offering of Essential Spiritual Exercises.

Her mentoring and support role grew in the context of working with students and colleagues who were striving to live a spiritual life. They sought assistance from her as they bumped up against challenges on their spiritual journey. She developed a strong practice of setting her personal or small self aside to seek the guidance and words of Holy Spirit. She offers herself in service to the Infinite Creator.
