I didn't want to believe the hype around this book. I figured, hmmm this is someone I never heard of...if he was so good wouldn't I have heard SOMETHING? Well you have heard because now I am telling you- this book was good. Good enough to get me off my butt and write this review. I was constantly surprised. I was surprised at the story telling, I was surprised by the characters I loved and hated, and then loved the ones I hated and began to hate the ones I loved. The mafia stories have been done ad nauseam. But this one does something different with it that I never saw before. And just when I had my mind around it all, the end threw me a curveball that had me ducking. I WILL read the next one.
