Helen Roseveare

Biography

Dr Helen Roseveare was born in 1925. She was converted during her medical studies at Cambridge University through the ministry of the Christian Union. In 1951 she joined WEC International, and served in the Belgian Congo (now Democratic Republic of Congo)as a medical missionary. During the Simba rebellion of the 1960s she was one of many missionaries captured and mistreated by the rebel soldiers. Dr Roseveare continued to have a productive ministry in her retirement, and died in 2016.
