Smashwords Interview

What are your five favorite books, and why?
Thats a hard question for anyone to answer but I will try to answer in the order in which I read the following:
1. The Giving Tree: When I was a young girl, a friend of my moms bought me this book and I can honestly say the lesson within has stuck with me my entire life. If I could be such an author I would be thrilled. But I will settle for being a fan.
2. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. I found an original copy in an old barn when I was still in High School. I had no idea the book was a best seller in its day, and used it to write an essay that eventually got me rolling on a series of book essays that landed me high marks in not only that class, but enabled me to apply for advanced classes in other subject.
3. Wuthering Heights: This book has so many layers in it, that when I first read it in High School, I don't think I grasped the depth of what it was trying to convey to its readers. As I grew the layers became clearer and so I think this might be one of the books I have re-read most in my life time.
4. The Bible. Not to repeat myself but this book has more layers in it than an old oak tree has on its trunk. Each time i read it, I learn something new about myself, about the author, and about life in general.
5. Rainbow Valley. I have always been a fan of Montgomery, but truthfully, I've probably watched the movie renditions more than I have read the books. Recently a friend gave me an original copy of this lesser known story and I fell in love with the characters! I couldn't put it down. This type of writing really inspires me to write.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Probably book promos forwarded via social media. I'm constantly trying to find new techniques though.
