- Gringa - In the Clutches of a Ruthless Drug-Lord Book 4
on Dec. 01, 2012
I love Eve Rabi's 'Gringa' series. Terribly exciting, violent, sexy/steamy and sad, the whole series was a page turner. I literally couldn't read fast enough, some of the time. Talk about a great way to let go of the stresses or reality, I laughed out loud, cried, and got turned on, too. This book was a hot exciting read, and Payton is hilarious. The characters in this book are outrageous and entertaining, but some of them, particularly Diablo/Diago and Payton have their vulnerable, complex and endearing sides, too. This is the kind of series you read, and re-read. Loved so many of the character arcs and the twists and turns. You will not know what to expect, next.
- The Cheat - A Tale of Lies and Infidelity (book 1)
on Dec. 22, 2012
Ooh-la-sexy, another hot, wild read from Eve Rabi. Gabe and Angel, and a few other complex characters, face a situation fraught with moral dilemmas and intense emotional experience and uncertainty is this modern romantic novel. What happens when "What happens in Vegas" doesn't stay in Vegas? A roller coaster of emotion, from desire and love to anger, fear, panic, and love, punctuated by a little bitch-slapping. This book has it all. In the end I wondered, how Gabe would fix things with Angel, and if Sinead would show back up, and where the wild, surprising events would lead--so I had to buy book 2. This is a page-turner, so if you need an escape from the mundane and uninspired, check out this fast, fun read!
- The Cheat - A Tale of lies and Infidelity (book 2)
on Dec. 22, 2012
Like living vicariously? In this sexy, seriously entertaining book, you'll find off-the-charts emotions, betrayal, shock, sexy good times, a little bitch-slapping, and some hot and heavy great sex, all mixed up with fun and some violence in this hot, wild read by Eve Rabi. The author has a tremendous ability to create complex characters who elicit mixed emotions in the reader. You'll probably love or hate one or more of her characters and also feel compassion for them/their issues and really root for them. Rabi puts those complicated characters into fascinating and intense situations where they make unexpected choices which generally leads to a hot, wild page-turner of a read. I love her 'Gringa - In the Clutches of a Ruthless Drug-Lord' series for this, as well. The protagonist of the 'Wages of Sinead' series is Gabe, a fairly obnoxious and self-absorbed attorney, who is married to Angel and has two beautiful little daughters. After reading the first book in this series, 'THE WAGES OF SINEAD - A Tale of Lies and Infidelity book 1,' I wanted to read this one and was wildly curious about where the author would go with the story. I didn't really like Gabe yet, but as I understood him better I became invested in his happiness. I wanted Gabe to become a better man and figure a way out of the mess he had made of his life with the long-suffering Angel. Of course, I, like lots of readers, love a glittery, happy-making Hollywood, happily ever after, ending and--by the end--'THE WAGES OF SINEAD - A Tale of lies and Infidelity book 2' really delivers. It is the roller coaster of emotion and action that the characters travel, on the way to that ending, that makes this book such a good read. Sinead--the chick who starts Gabe on his downward spiral to infidelity hell--finally shows back up in this book. One of the biggest story surprises is who and what she really is and how she and Gabe resolve their relationship. There are twists and turns, entirely unexpected events that the reader can't possibly see coming, which is characteristic of the author's work. Minor typos/grammatical issues aside, this was a great read. I've read six of her books so far and next will read her 'CAPTURED - Held as a Slave by Iraqi Militants' eBook 1. I look forward to her upcoming work, too. I hope she writes some supernatural or YA fiction, but I'll read whatever she writes. Her books would make great Tarantino or Robert Rodriquez movies--can't wait to see her characters up on the silver screen.
