It is a story of how two ordinary boys, walking very different paths, became extraordinary men, and the deep spiritual bond between them. It is also the story of Japan form 1880 to 1965, of two personal accounts of Zen journeys to enlightenment, and of love and friendship.

Biography
Arthur Braverman was born in The Bronx, NY. A Graduate of CCNY. Studied Classical Japanese at Columbia University and ESL at UC Santa Barbara.
Spent six years at Antaiji Temple in Kyoto, Japan and taught English at Ryukoku University in Kyoto, The Oak Grove School in Ojai and Ventura Community College in Ventura.
Translated three Zen texts: "Mud and Water", "Warrior of Zen" and "A Quiet Room". Author of "Living and Dying in Zazen" and "Dharma Brothers: Kodo and Tokujoo". He lives in Ojai, California.
