James Lauren
Biography
James Lauren was born in Yorkshire in 1966, the year England won the World Cup for the first time (he says hopefully, as if there will be others) and 3 years before the first moon landing.
He has been reading and watching science fiction for as long as he can remember, consuming a steady diet of Star Trek, Dr Who, Blakes 7, Red Dwarf, Babylon 5, Farscape and just about everything else in-between on the small screen. He is a first generation Star Wars fan and has enjoyed the full science fiction smorgasbord (Alien, Blade Runner, Terminator, 2001, Close Encounters to name but a few) on the silver screen.
His sense of humour was developed watching the Carry On films and Benny Hill, honed on Benson and Blackadder and polished by Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett.
He first turned his hand to writing in the early 90's, but life got in the way as it often does, and his literary aspirations were put on ice for the next twenty years, before becoming an itch that just had to be scratched again.
He now lives in south Staffordshire with his wife, two kids and a dog, holds down a sober and sensible job in the daytime, but at night (and possibly also at weekends if his wife lets him!) James Lauren comes out to play!
