Jasper Burns


Biography

Jasper Burns is the author and illustrator of many books dealing with history and natural science. His nonfiction titles include Great Women of Imperial Rome: Mothers and Wives of the Caesars (Routledge, 2006) as well as five books about fossils and fossil collecting (e.g. Fossil Collecting in the Mid-Atlantic States (Johns Hopkins University Press, 1991). He is also the author of the standard numismatic reference to late Medieval Irish pennies, two books of poetry, and a novel about the ancient Roman emperor Tiberius and his first wife (Vipsania: A Roman Odyssey, Pietas Publications, 2006). His novel about Bulla Felix, the “Roman Robin Hood,” has been completed and is now available. Mr. Burns lives in Waynesboro, Virginia.
