Sixty-Four Days, A Sea Story
on July 01, 2015
I saw a tweet for this free story. It said, "Brave sailors face certain danger aboard a battleship at sea (free)." I downloaded it and read it in 20 minutes. It's an excellent short story with a strong main character and tons of intense, scary action. It takes place on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier, which is very interesting because I've never read a book in this setting. At the end there was a free chapter of Malcolm Torres's novel Sailors Take Warning. I read that too and it was also a very cool story. It also takes place on an aircraft carrier, except it seems like it's in the future and there are women sailors on the ship. Why hasn't anyone written this kinds of book before? What an excellent idea to write a horror / adventure / thriller set aboard a badass battleship at sea. It seems like every book now a days is about zombies, wizards, dragons, the apocalypse or porno which is all getting kind of old. These stories by Malcolm Torres are refreshing, fast paced and the characters are young women and men. They are on badass battleships! They are NOT what I expected, they are NOT like super pro-military stories. They are NOT full of military language. There's no right wing pro-military views. These are sea stories, which I think is an old style of literature but they take place today. This is very interesting. The next book, Sailors Take Warning, seems like hipsters in the Navy or something. Enjoy. Thanks Malcolm.

This is exactly the book I am looking for. Very happy to find it, and especially because it is written by the king of self publishing Mark Coker. Thank you Mark for sharing your depth and breadth of experience with us. I look forward to using these valuable techniques to market my ebook when I publish it later this year.

Great ideas a few years ago, but the indie author space is so crowded. It's a one in a million chance of achieving success. Either way, this book can help for anyone who wants to try. Thanks, Mr Coker

This author has a unique way of telling a story. The style is conversational, and it draws you in. This is great story-telling. And all of his writing is sea stories which is unusual, considering nobody writes sea stories any more. Would make a good movie, for certain.

A kooky tale about some kooky dudes who live in a small town. There's a strong conspiracy theory at work in the plot.

I bet this book is downloaded a lot because people hit SW and see it, so they grab it. But, as you can tell from the vast majority of reviews on here, this book is kinda lame. Yeah it is.
