  • Symphony of Psalms on June 21, 2012

Baldwin does a masterful job of getting to the real meaning of Psalms beyond their beauty as mere poetry. He gives a new meaning to the interpretation of the word "praise" as the means by which "we entrust out lives to God the King." This book challenges the reader to re-read the Psalms and how they address "every human trouble: questions, doubts, anxieties, fears...darkness and hatred." Through praise everything is overcome.
  • That Awful Silence on June 21, 2012

Listen! Do you hear it? No? This book defines that silence that comes from unanswered prayers. It is more than just God saying "no" to us. It is painful, disturbing silence. Baldwin Makes sense out of that silence, giving it meaning--how we can come to grips with the volumes spoken by God's silence. The answers come at God's will and not ours. Even God's Son felt the silence of God when he prayed "let this cup pass from me..." Silence. When there is no seeming answer to our personal suffering, there is one great revelation: In the resurrection of Christ, "suffering will not triumph."
