Mary Brackenbury
Biography
A graduate of the Education faculty at the University of Calgary, Mary lived and taught in Grande Prairie, Alberta,where she and her husband raised their two daughters. A move to Edmonton in the mid 1980’s enabled her to attend the University of Alberta, where she earned a Master of Education degree. Ten years teaching for the Parkland School Division capped off her teaching career. Mary tookearly retirement from teaching to complete a Fine Arts Diploma from the University of Alberta, Faculty of Extension. Since graduating in 2002, she has had five public
shows of her artwork. Now a resident of Victoria, BC, Mary divides her time between painting, writing, grand-parenting and volunteer work. She shares her home with husband Jim and dog Miss Daisy Mae.
