Jen Deben is the pen-name of writer J. J. DeBenedictis, and both of those personas write science fiction, fantasy, and that weird hybrid of the two called science fantasy.

J. J. DeBenedictis has Master's degree in physics, and for her thesis project, she measured the resistivity tensor of under-doped Yttrium Barium Copper Oxide (a high temperature superconductor.) She also blew up a snowman using liquid nitrogen, but that, sadly, did not make it into the thesis.

Ms. DeBenedictis' hobbies include rock climbing, drawing, reading, writing (of course), and trying not to kill orchids. She lives on the west coast of Canada with her husband.
