John Fracchia

Biography

John Fracchia is a self-described writer, educator, musician, and activist. In addition to the Cataclysm series he has co-authored the play, Club Hell with Kerry Forrestal. When not writing, he can be found writing and recording music with his bands Loose Change and The Bud Brothers or performing as an improv comedian with ComedyFLOPs. He is also an experimental film artist and has had his film works exhibited at the national level.

John is strongly committed to service and is a member of several non-profit boards serving veterans (Twin Tiers Honor Flight), the dance arts (National Dance Society) and fair trade (One World Market). Since 2014 he has served as a Councilmember on his town board.

A graduate of Binghamton University, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree (Psychology; Cinema) and a Masters Degree in Business Administration (Marketing).

He has worked for Ithaca College since 1994, currently as the Associate Director of Career Services. In the past he has lectured in the School of Business and served on the college's Board of Trustees. John is also a past-president of theEastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE).

He is originally from Long Island (Baldwin, St. James) and currently resides in the Fingerlakes Region of New York with his wife Nancy and their six cats. He considers himself luckier than any one person has the right to be.
