I really loved this book - it's totally gripping stuff and the dilemma is nailbiting. Towards the end there is a fantastic yacht chase that is as good as 'Riddle of the Sands' and there are far too few books with sailing in them fiction-wise. More please.
The evil villain from 'The Defector' makes another appearance in this book - he is truly sinister and frightening and this book is as compelling as the one it is the sequel to. Read them both and you'll see what I mean.
Amazing stories. How come this book isn't listed in the thriller and suspense category? It seems like it should be, The story 'Sleeping Pattern' is so violent yet at the same time it is not horrible and I had a lot of sympathy for the poor main character and his awful predicament.
Well - it's a challenge, I'll say that. The atmosphere created is unsettling and I didn't exactly like being in the position of having information promised then withheld. It makes you think because it isn't storytelling as we know it. Most uncomfortable. The writing is amazing - very fluent and literary and the writer has a unique imagination. Great stuff. Well done.
