Biography

Jeanette Sacco Saponaro was born in the Chicago suburbs to Italian immigrant parents. Her childhood and adolescence were greatly influenced by Italian culture, customs, and language. Her passion for Italy and its language flourished as she prepared to become an Italian teacher. Her first trip to Italy resulted in an intense period of inspiration in Italian. She published her first poem in 1979, "Ho scoperto una stella", followed by "Un fiore rubato", and "L'Arcobaleno" in "Calabria Letteraria (Rubettino Editore). Years later, she began translating her work into English. "Dentro e Fuori - Inside Out" is a journey for all those who follow their heart. She enjoys writing about life, love, family, nature and the entire spectrum of human emotion. She continues to teach Italian to high school students.
