I created an account here almost solely to comment on this story. This is a fairly well written story. I read the 3 book "pro" addition I can only imagine how badly it needed proof reading before this version, which needs another through review. I can understand why other reviewers were offended by the rape presented in the story. In my opinion the author has a deep fascination with rape. He claims that it was fixed early in the plot line, but it was not. Rape by definition is not desired. It is not rough sex, nor is it role playing. Rape need not be violent, but it must be over the objections of the other party. This unneeded part of the plot line gets raised occasionally when it serves no purpose and interferes with the story. Not everyone can be Asimov or Farmer or Tolkien. The author gives it his best shot, but his combat scenes in the final battle fall far short. It's a fine effort and despite the typos, the flawed handling of the final combat, and his rape fascination (which he so desperately tries to justify) I did enjoy the trilogy. Without the rape fascination, the typos, and the utter failure to understand that he violated the underpinnings of his own rules of magical combat this would easily rate 5 stars. As it sits. 3.5
