This book was really useful in reminding me about the essence of what evaluation is - ie it's not about methods, it's about reasoning. As an evaluation practitioner, it is very easy to get caught up in the 'how to' questions and considerations and lose sight of the 'why evaluation and not just research' considerations and questions. I think this book will be most useful for readers who have a reasonably solid grasp of evaluation theory and methods but have become less confident about how to keep evaluation relevant, useful, and actionable. Thanks Jane for helping us yet again to keep evaluation simple at the same time as warning us about not letting it become simplistic. Nga mihi Karen Newton.
