When did you first start writing?
I actually first began writing as a child. I would make up my own adventures and my parents would encourage me to turn them into short stories. It was a fun way to kill time whenever the weather was bad and I couldn't go outside.
What's the story behind your latest book?
'Renegade force' is the second book in the 'Star Alliance Chronicles' series. The story picks up where the first book 'Crisis on the Rim' leaves off. The protagonist, Stephen St. Claire has returned home following his departure from the Coalition fleet only to find that the Coalition is at war with the Vaari A war which he, himself, may have initiated. He's offered an opportunity to return to duty but, is torn between his love for his family and his devotion to the Coalition.
A cryptic message from a remote sector of the galaxy reveals apocalyptic plans to invade the Coalition of Allied Worlds. All that stands in the way of this powerful invasion force is the crew of the maintenance facility at Base Station DD-109. Can this untested group of officers, and their makeshift fleet confront the enemy and prevent the brutal conquest of the quadrant?
This is the book I wish I had when I wrote my first Smashwords title: ‘The Star Alliance Chronicles: Crisis on the Rim’. Before I found the guide, I searched the internet exhaustively, and mostly in vain, for words and phrases that could help breathe emotional life into my characters. The guide is well thought out, easy to understand, and loaded with great examples of how to improve your narrative and communicate with your readers on an emotional level. In fact, I was so impressed with it that I purchased an extra copy for my editor and she was thrilled! Thank you for this fine publication…a must have in any writers toolkit.
