A self-confessed science fiction and fantasy devotee, Mel Keegan is known for novels across a wide
range of subjects, from the historical to the future action-adventure ... but certainly MK is best
known for the NARC series, featuring iconic characters Jarrat and Stone. Mel lives in South
Australia with an eccentric family.
From 1989 to 2001, GMP Ltd. in the UK issued the Keegan titles, and released eight original
novels plus numerous reprints. In 1999, GMP was bought out -- twice! -- and the final owner of
the old company was a magazine publisher (Millivres Publishing Group) which had, essentially, no
interest in contintuing the old paperback list. In short order the editorial staff was laid off and the
writers were set free...
You'd be surprised at the writers who were suddenly adrift without anchor or rudder! Keegan,
Josh Lanyon, David Patrick Beavers, Chris Hunt, and others. Some of us have clawed our way back
and are rebuilding careers which were badly damaged by the demise of GMP. Regrettably, others

The long-awaited penultimate volume in the ground-breaking HELLGATE series. At 250,000 words Flashpoint is an epic work, taking Travers and Marin to the crux of war. The Chicago battle group is bound for Velcastra, the frontier colonies are being lost to the Zunshu, Lai’a tests the new drive in Rabelais Space … and even if you’ve lived and breathed Hellgate, what happens next will rock you.
Sean Brodie, an American working downunder, and his partner, Rob Markham, take a fishing trip on the south coast. As a storm approaches they aid a luxury cruiser apparently in trouble, only to find they've stumbled on a drug smuggling gang's offshore headquarters. A lucky escape is the start of their trouble. In a thriller set in his native Aus, Mel Keegan delivers a fast, gay adventure-thriller.
Ice, Wind and Fire
Greg Farris and Alex Connor, newsmen from Perspective magazine, head to Jamaica on a vacation which soon goes askew. Scuba diving after a storm, they discover the wreck of a light plane ... and the lid is off Pandora’s box. They’re on a survival run in the teeth of smugglers, slave traders, murderers, bushfire – and the storm of the decade. Sizzling gay romance from the pen of the maestro!
For Travers and Marin these are bittersweet days, filled with self-discovery but shadowed by fear. They long for the Colonial Wars to be over, yet find themselves at the crux of the danger, politics and intrigue as Harrison Shapiro makes his gambit and Michael Vidal prepares to fly the mission of his life, into the dark heart of Hellgate. The stakes are the liberty, the survival of the Deep Sky.
The Colonial War begins as the Zunshu devour worlds beyond Hellgate. The Confederacy deploys in the Deep Sky and the last Resalq fight for the survival of all. The struggle for the liberty of the frontier might die stillborn. Marin and Travers spearhead the action, from the heights of On’rabi to the pits of Omaru’s citybottom. The future will be forged in the dark heart of Hellgate.
The humans of the Deep Sky’s rebel colonies and the last of the Resalq fight to survive against an enemy known only as the Zunshu -- and the odds are against them. Nothing is what it seems, with allies in Fleet and enemies among the Freespacers. When Travers and Marin are assigned to the super-carrier Kiev on the Omaru blockade, all bets are off, and it’s every man for himself.
The Rabelais Alliance
In a part of space so terrible it is known as Hellgate, the Fleet supercarriers hunt the starship wreckers, privateers who, alone, navigate the Rabelais Drift and hold the keys to survival on the frontier. The Resalq are not the dead race humans suppose; we share a common enemy known only as the Zunshu. Neil Travers and Curtis Marin are at the hub of spiraling events which must culminate in war.
White Rose of Night
To further the House of Aethelstan, Edward rides to the Crusade. For love of the young Saxon knight, Paul squires him – and before he returns he will be a man grown, with a tale of sorcery, sublime sensuality, and timeless love.
