K. Gorman

I think I wrote my first story when I was seven. It was about horses. I have since discovered fantasy and science fiction (in that order) and am a hopeless addict. My favourite is to combine the two.

I am three years into a bachelors degree, currently taking a year to study Mandarin Chinese in Kunming, China. Because of this, it is sometimes impossible for me to reach Twitter, Facebook, Goodreads, Wattpad and Blogspot. If you would like to reach me, I invite you to use the contact form on my website.

In Lyarne, refugees are first pitied, then assimilated. For Mieshka, this means acting like everything is normal. For Mieshka and her dad, "normal" is good. "Normal" was what they'd come here for. When the Fire Mage sends Meese after after Kitty, a rogue elemental with a crazy past, she isn't sure what to think. It means going to the Underground, a subterranean city that's a mix of war heroes, deserters, refugees, criminals, and everything in between. It's a place Meese has been before, with mixed results. But the Fire Mage seems confident in her ability, and Meese can use the cash.

  • The Emperor's Edge (a high fantasy mystery in an era of steam) on Feb. 24, 2011

This book kept me up at night. And made me late for class. A definite screen-turner, if I can use the phrase. The characters were what really drove the book. All very well developed, changing and adapting as the story progressed. I hear there is a sequel in the works, and I am finding it hard to wait for the release. Kind of like when I read The Hunger Games.

Fun and adventurous as always. Love the ever-expanding world of Encrypted and The Emperor's Edge. The witty descriptions and banter always make me smile.
