Loved this book! Complex likeable characters. Not the usual let-me-just-kill-her-myself stupid hero-victim. Great story kept me guessing til the end. Loved it!
  • Crossfire (Book Two of the Darkride Chronicles) on Jan. 18, 2013

Love these books! Crossfire was even better than Darkride and thats not always true with a sequel. I really enjoy that the characters and plot twists are complicated and subtle and messy like real life is. Its not the predictable and superficial blah that you would expect from this genre. I can't tell if the story line/series is all wrapped up, but I hope there's more!
  • The Strongest Ring (A YA Short Story) on April 21, 2013

Happy Earth Day! Kill the humans! Well that's just one vampire's solution, and not actually the main theme, but it might make for an interesting sequel ;) Beck and Jordan have a wonderful budding romance while saving some old tree friends. The author does a good job, as always, creating an interesting girl who is romantic and vulnerable without being sissy. She gets a lot done in the span of this short story. Loved it!

One of the things I like most about Laura Bradley Rede’s books is how she tells a story messy like it is with characters that don’t fit the mold. The good guys are flawed and the bad guys are likeable. The characters feel real and the relationships are organic. Nothing is simple or superficial and you don’t know how it will turn out until the very end. She pulls this all off with out it feeling forced or convoluted. So once again she has an awesome heroine, steamy yummy scenes, dark and raw hard parts and a surprising ending. The only thing that I’m disappointed about is that I gobbled it up too fast and now it’s gone…
