When I read the Prologue of this book I emailed the author to tell her I was hooked. Seriously - from the Prologue, where the murder of Mirabel Townes takes place. To summarize, Cleo is asked by two sisters, Lacey and Angelica Townes, to allow them to contact their mom as they believe she did not die from drinking too much and falling asleep in the hot tub, but rather she was murdered. With this simple contact, each page introduces another character to be suspicious of one minute, and sympathize with the next. Oh my goodness, with each page turn I found myself saying (out loud), "Are you kidding me?" There were so many twists and turns I couldn't wait to see who came up doing what next and how Cleo was going to handle it. Everyone seemed suspicious at some point but in the end I was still surprised at the actual culprit. I love when that happens; when I'm saying, "Oh it was totally him," or "It has to be her!" and all along it was someone else entirely - someone I had suspected at one pont, but then again everyone was suspect. This was another 2-day read and I highly recommend it if you want a book that's easy and quick and draws you in, not letting you go until the very end. I'm totally getting her first book next.
