This is a wonderful series of books. Certainly there are occasional grammar and spelling errors. "use" when "used" is appropriate, missing commas, etc. Most of the time though these lapses appear in the conversation between the characters so it would seem that "common" which is the language used everywhere on the "new world" aside from the "Empire" is an interesting dialect. In fact, James has to "remember how to do English right" in a later book. So you learn to ignore the small "gaffes." Overall, these are a good series of books. Recommend buying all of them for friends and family.
