Larry was born and raised in Baltimore, but got to Austin, Texas as fast as he could. After failing out of the University of Maryland (and having a great time doing it :-), Larry joined the Air Force, then used the G.I. Bill to earn a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked in many different jobs as an engineer, then started teaching in 2002. He taught in Austin public schools for 6 years and taught for 4 years in the Netherlands and 3 years in Oman.
He is still alive, as far as I know.

Book Speech Excerpts
This is a short (about 3 minutes) video of excerpts from one of the speeches I gave about my book.
The main “message to my students” is this: Don’t wait to be great. Start improving yourself, your life, and the lives of those around you and see how far you can go.
The objective of this book is to provide a systematic process you can use to change your life for the better. This book provide tools for evaluating your life and tools for aligning your actions with your aspirations.
My aim in writing this book is to help people change their lives for the better by changing the way they look at work. I am concerned that most people view their jobs in a way that is detrimental to their quality of life and, hence, not in their best interest. Work is not a perfect place but it is a perfect opportunity to improve your life.
