Biography

Lauralynn is an author of paranormal and fantasy romance books published independently in primarily electronic format. You will find everything from vampires and ghosts to elves and wizards in her novels and novellas. She enjoys putting a little bit of a different twist on some of the old ideas about our favorite fictional characters.

Lauralynn lives in the southeastern United States with her husband of "several" years. She enjoys reading, playing computer games, and spending time with friends.

Kept (Blood Lust, novella 1) on Dec. 16, 2008

Ms. Winters' novella is well written and very deep for a short read, with a little humor thrown in. However, the most important element in a great story to me is whether or not it keeps me entertained. This one kept me reading! Great job!

I don't read a lot of YA books. They have to be really special to keep my attention. This one was good! I could relate to the characters, even though they were young enough to be my kids. Susan Bischoff did a great job building those characters. And the action scenes...VERY believable. The only complaint I have is that it left me wanting more. :) I would recommend this book to young adults and not so young adults.
Dark King of the North (Book III of the Kobalos Trilogy) on Aug. 20, 2010

This was the last book of the Kobalos Trilogy, so I was looking for everything to wrap up nicely. I think the author did this well. Most of the things I was hoping for at the end actually happened, so I was pleased with that as well. Good job, Ty. I don't like to include spoilers in my reviews, so I'll be kind of vague here, but there was one character that was supposed to be sort of a bad guy, yet I never felt real animosity toward him. Ty did a great job painting one picture of the character, but also making the reader feel as if there was a little more to the guy; that he wasn't quite what he seemed. And the ending showed that my feelings all along had been true. This book was as good as the other two in the trilogy and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Ty Johnston is a great writer, and I'm glad I found him!

Another great book from H.P. Mallory. This book kept me entertained all the way through. I found myself reading it constantly, even when I was brushing my teeth! This is one I really enjoyed.

I didn't really know what to expect from a story this short. It was longer than a short story and shorter than a novella. I'm usually left wanting after reading a short story. I knew I was going to have to review this story, so I was hoping I would like it. I was not disappointed! This is a great little story. It was fun, romantic, and just the thing for someone who wants to read something quick that still has substance. I really liked the characters, and I liked the unusual plot. Good job, Stacey!
Haunting Miss Trentwood on Nov. 03, 2010

I've been reading (and writing) so many modern paranormal romances, that I had to get used to the voice of this book. The style is just a little old fashioned, and it reminded me a lot of books I read in high school. This was definitely a ghost story, and it was set in the 1800's, but it wasn't typical by any means. There was a lot of quirky humor in this book, especially when Mr. Trentwood was around. And I love quirky humor. I was really entertained by this book and I enjoyed it even more than I thought I would. It was one of those books where I carried my Kindle around reading, almost running into walls. :) Great story!

There are many things to like about this book. But I think it's the characters that I like best. They are rich, believable, flawed, and multi-layered. Even though the characters are much, much younger than me, I can still feel for them. I love how the author was able to develop the teenage characters as well as the adults. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next one in the series.

Stacey has kept me entertained once again. I'm really picky about YA books, so I don't read too many of them. But I love this series, and I'll keep reading the books. There was a little more sexual content than I've seen in other young adult books I've read, but the fact is that this is what really goes on with teenagers, and the author really does a good job in portraying the thoughts and feelings of young people in this age group. Another winner!

I really loved this novella. For the first half of the book, I thought I was going to give it four stars (which is still really good!) but by the time I was into the second half, it was definitely a five star book. Usually with stories about angels, it's kind of hit and miss for me. This novella was a hit. It was creative, well written, and well edited. The author did a great job entertaining me!

I really, really enjoyed reading this book. It was packed full of humor, but at the same time, addressed real issues. I found myself laughing my head off at the funny situations Frannie got into, but I also felt her pain. This book kept me entertained the whole time I was reading it, and I found it hard to put down. Sharon Gerlach has shown, once again, that she has a great writing style that can keep a reader hooked and begging for more.

This was a delightful book! It kept me constantly entertained with all the magic and fun, and I had a hard time putting it down. But don't think it doesn't have its serious moments. The book is about love, family, and sometimes making the wrong choices...and the consequences of those choices.

Wow, I'm not sure where to start. Office Politics was awesome, but this book was even better. There's humor sprinkled all through this book, but there are some VERY serious issues involved in the story. One thing I like about Sharon Gerlach's writing is that she always pulls you into the story. You feel for the characters and go through everything with them. I didn't want the book to end. And, I have to admit, reading this book made me late for work a few mornings!
