Day of Sacrifice is a great novella that puts you on the edge of your seat. Imagine a world where the first born child in your family is sacrficed to the gods in order to increase your families wealth. Flora has been raised to know that on her twenty first birthday she will be sacrificed for the good of her family. That in and of itself would be a hard pill to swallow, but at the same time Flora wants to enjoy the short life she has left and is labeled a wild child. The novella encompasses the three days leading up to Flora's Day of Sacrifice. She is running for her life, lusting for her new gaurdian, Julian, and having a prophecy revealed to her that could change everything for all of the sacrifices. You really get pulled into the world that Benefiel has created and don't want the story to end. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is a fan of fantasy and the paranormal. Rebellon cannot come soon enough now!

Would you be better off not knowing what your future holds. The book begins with Zellie crushing on Avery during church service. You think that this is going to be a typical YA book where boy meets girl and end up with a happily every after, but Zellie and Avery's romance hits a bump in the road before it even really begins. As soon as the sparks start flying between Zellie and Avery, she has a vision of thier future. Afraid that Avery will think she is crazy, Zellie tries to ignore the visions until reality catches up with her and her powers are thrust into the spotlight. Now Zellie and her entire family has to come to terms with her gift and the past starts to catch up with them. This book really grabs ahold of you and you can't put it down. You really feel that you can relate to Zellie and Avery and the struggles they face when the adults in there lives may not always know best.

First let me say that I could not put this book down. I absolutely loved it and was so engaged by it that the world could have passed me by and I never would have noticed it. It seems that Zellie's life is never going to be uneventful. Zellie and Avery are struggling to take their relationship to the next level while learning to adapt to Zellie's powers and their unique parenting situation. We are also reintroduced to Ben the hottie, as Claire would call him. The arrival of Ben helps Zellie to explore more of her abilities than she had thought possible but also causes jelousy from Avery. As if Zellie's life wasn't already complicated the past begins to catch up to Zellie and Ben and someone is trying to get rid of them for good. Then the unthinkable happens and Zellie's dream of Avery death stops. Can Zellie really lose Avery? Can Zellie manage to save the day? Benefiel's work will completely captivate you. The characters make you fall in love with them. If you are a lover of paranormal young adult books, then this book it definitely one that you will not want to pass up. I can only think that if Glimpse and Glimmer were this good then Glow is really going to blow us away.
