- Too Near the Edge
on April 22, 2011
Good story, good characters, good read. This is an enjoyable read with twists and turns enough to engage the reader and make it a page turner, not in an epic over dramatic way but in a steady, believable, wanting more kind of way. Cleo and Tyler make an interesting murder mystery solving duo. I look forward to reading her next novel.
- Following My Toes

Enjoyable read. I liked Laurel Osterkamp's light, witty style of writing. The charaters were interesting and the story line kept me engrossed. I thought the minimal use of 'psychic ability' was well grounded and added to the story rather than swamped it. The underlying mystery kept me guessing, and successfully remained light when it could so easily have had a darker edge. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a little mystery and a little romance wrapped up with natural humour.
- Death After Midnight

I enjoyed this book, a real page turner. Although I hadn’t read Vol 1 I had no problem reading it as a ‘stand alone’ novel. It began slowly introducing the characters, building up momentum as the story unfolded, ending at breakneck speed with ‘une grande finale’. The futuristic and fantasy element was incorporated at the same pace in tandem - nice touch. The characters were very interesting and well rounded, I could easily believe they had a past. Perfect for a movie adaptation. I shall be on the lookout for other volumes in the quartet.
- Twenty-Five Years Ago Today

An enjoyable read which became a page turner half way through and had a killer of a twist at the end. There is also a sprinkling of romance which adds to the storyline. The writing style was clear but perhaps overall lacked dynamics hense my rating. However I would still recommend it as a good read if you like a 'whodunnit' and enjoy trying to guess who did it.
- Last Man Through the Gate

Received this Time Travel SyFy novella free from LibraryThing and was looking forward to reading it however I was just getting into the story and interested in the characters when it ended all too soon. Very descriptive and atmospheric but as it stands I felt too much was left unanswered, plenty of scope for a sequel. Would make a good read if fully developed into a novel. 3 stars for the story so far.....
- The Eyes that See - A Prelude to the Balancer Chronicles
on Jan. 25, 2012
A prelude to the Balancer novel I read last year . The Eyes That See is a short, simpler introduction to Balancers. An enjoyable read which wets the appetite for the books to follow. One to watch.
