Linda Chappo

Biography

Linda L. Chappo, a veteran of the cosmetology profession, graduated from Heim Beauty School in Gary, Indiana and received her Indiana license in 1967. She worked at the Best Beauty Shop and then Gerald’s Coiffures for the next six years. Linda was present throughout the 1960’s and 70's hair revolution … teased updo’s, the bubble, the rise of Vidal Sassoon, Twiggy cut, the shag, the wedge, and the shift from razor cuts to shears.

Linda stepped up her game in 1975 by opening her first salon, “Hair Unlimited,” and then another in 1980. Fourteen years later, after achieving undreamed of success, she was ready to explore other grounds.

Linda’s desire to write became manifest in a book about the hair salon business. Milady Publishing offered a contract, and her forthcoming book, “How to Open a Family Hair Salon” was born. The book is currently published and re-titled as “How to Start Up & Manage Your Own Hair Salon … And Make it BIG in the Salon Business.” This eclectic salon business book has 19 chapters, and teaches new and seasoned entrepreneurs the nuts and bolts of opening and managing their own hair salon. Linda offers a few personal stories of her trials and tribulations. Readers are attracted by the idea of learning tips, tricks and secrets to getting more clients into their chair, gaining financial independence, and learning social media marketing and internet strategies for success.

Linda moved to California in 1991 and found her way back to the salon industry while getting a degree in graphic communications. After getting her California license she worked at Mr. Eckhard Salon at the Fairmont Hotel and Just Cuts in San Francisco.

Linda later founded the West Coast Business Academy and taught small business marketing classes. She also wrote a marketing book for small business owners (which began in her salon book) endorsed by marketing guru Jay Conrad Levinson entitled “Full Strength Marketing: How You can use Your Hidden Strengths, Break Through Inner Barriers, and Raise Your Profits” published by QuickBreakThrough Publishing. This book has contributing articles by 24 top marketers including Brian Tracy, Jill Lublin, Marc Allen, and Paul Gillin. Both books are available as a printed book or ebook on Amazon.com.

Linda’s mission is now to share what she’s learned throughout the years as both a salon owner/entrepreneur and sales/marketing expert. She offers classes/seminars in salon start up and salon marketing. You can reach Linda at lchappo@aol.com for more information.
