Smashwords Interview

Who is L J Frank?
L J Frank is an author, consultant and artist. (See www.ljfrank.com) He writes with an existential “what is real” question lurking in the background of his works. His quests are interlaced with passion, intellect, sensuality, intrigue, redemption and the erotic. From the historical fiction of the Arius Scrolls, to the suspense of The Fragments of Faust, and the question of reincarnation in The Shadows of Lhasa, Frank writes with the colorful threads of romance and curiosity. His Essays from an Esoteric Journey add a touch of ambiguity and humor to his quest.
Who or what inspire you?
“I started writing with the same encouragement received when I started painting abstract art. My first painting came about from a fortuitous meeting with an artist and professor. He invited me to his farm near Lake Skaneateles, one of the Finger Lakes in Central New York. It was a hands-on experience in which he simply stated, as we climbed up to the second floor of a remodeled rustic barn where his small class of students met with a live model, “If you wish to paint, then paint.” I applied that same philosophy to the writing of my first book that I had researched for over a decade but never quite reached fruition. Once the first words were written and those words became pages and the pages formed a book, I smiled with pleasure, as in the process I also encountered an illusive, inspiring Muse.
