Smashwords Interview

Who is L J Frank?
L J Frank is a publisher, author (including ghostwriting), consultant, and artist - see www.ljfrank.com for more details. His writing has an existential texture to his works. Woven with passion and intrigue his writings deeply sensual and thought provoking. From the historical fiction of The Arius Scrolls, to the suspense of The Fragments of Faust, and the nature of reincarnation in The Shadows of Lhasa, Frank interweaves curiosity, doubt and romance. His Essays from an Esoteric Journey add a touch of ambiguity and humor to his quest.
Who or what inspire you?
Different authors have inspired me for different reasons. A sentence, sometimes a paragraph and other times a chapter and every so often an entire work caused me to feel that as I was part of the experience. Some works affected my soul and others my intellect and certainly my emotions. From Voltaire’s Candide, Conrad’s Lord Jim, Miller’s Tropic of Capricorn, Heller’s Catch 22, Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath, Endo’s Silence, Abe’s The Woman in the Dunes and Kafka’s The Trial. The list is very long. Sometimes I forget the work but a particular group of words remains with me. My non-fiction interests cover a broad range from space exploration, seafaring, metaphysics, biographies and so forth - all are about a journey.

And through my travels an expected meeting with an enchanting and mysterious Muse served as an inspiration to write.
