Living in an abusive household, we watched as Emily traveled the road from childhood to adulthood with determination and strength. This story was about surviving and coming to terms with who you are and what you make of your life. Kudos to Emily for the sacrifices she made and doing what was right for her. This was a good read and have that box of tissues handy.
This book was a great ride that I didn’t want to get off. After his accident, Jeff got weird feelings and saw a murder before it even happened. Once he moved to Buffalo, it was apparent that he had the beginnings of psychic abilities and for himself; he had to solve the murder. I fell in love with the characters and I love the tone of this story.
In this short story, we follow Jeff on his first professional consultation after discovering his psychic abilities. A young boy has been missing for eight months and as a favor for his older half-brother, Richard, Jeff goes to see the single mother and upon walking in the apartment, immediately knew the fate of the young boy. What I liked best about "Cold Case" was I felt the anxiety and the emotions of Jeff as I watched him "see" the images that were needed to solve the boy's disappearance. If you are a follower of Jeff Resnick and you miss him, I highly recommend reading this story, as it will whet your appetite for more.
I wanted more Jeff Resnick and the author delivered with a bang! The characters that I love are back and again, Jeff is in the thick of things trying to protect his loved ones. Who is trying to harm Brenda? What about those dreams? All these questions kept me riveted to the pages until the last sentence. The author has a few surprises for us including an OMG! moment and the suspense was exhilarating. This is an awesome read and I can't wait to read the next Jeff Resnick story.
What a great book. This collection of short stories will have you reliving your babysitting duties and wonder why you didn't do what Janey did in the same situation. Future babysitters and adults will enjoy this as well.
It’s Christmas and Jeff is spending the day with Maggie’s family, who are not very welcoming, and we watch as the concern mounts in Jeff’s mind that something is amiss.
This was a great short story as the anticipation and nervousness of what is going to happen kept me glued to the pages. The author’s words take you into the scene and throughout the story you definitely feel what Jeff is feeling. A good job, well done.
What happens when your friend's widowed husband comes into your bar and drowns out his sorrow? You drive him home and that one night of unexpected passion changes the course of your life. This was a heartwarming and tender story of one woman's journey of love and forgiveness.
Emily’s continuing problem with her weight controlled her loneliness until she decided she wanted more out of her life. With the steps she took, Emily’s confidence soared and everything in her life blossomed. Feeling a bit insecure in her marriage, Emily felt attracted to another man but at that critical moment, Emily realized what she has is what she wants and sets about putting their marriage back on track. I could so relate to this heartwarming short story about self-esteem, love and being true to oneself. A quick and easy read, this was very enjoyable.
All Savannah wanted was to make her first sale when she agreed to meet Brenda’s client, Rafe Collier, a “bad boy” from her childhood years. Instead when they walked into the house, they find Brenda, dead. Savannah inadvertently starts digging for clues when things don’t add up and everywhere she goes, Rafe is somehow around. She begins to wonder what his role is and is pulled into finding out as much as she can, while trying to keep her distance from him and solving the murder. This was a good mystery, light and fun and I especially love the dialogue and the romantic tension between the Savannah and Rafe. I can’t wait to read the next book, “Hot Property” in this series.
Annika’s mission to bring her father’s remains back to his homeland goes terribly wrong when her carryon luggage with his remains is stolen. She soon learns of her father’s past transgression and his sins begin to haunt Annika’s stay in Sweden and Annika will have to trust a stranger to come out of this alive.
This was a good read that had me quickly turning the pages. The frenzy paced story took me on a ride filled with intrigue and romance that I did not want to get off. I loved the way the story flowed from one scene to the next, keeping me in suspense as to what will happen next. With a great narrative, this was very enjoyable romantic suspense drama.
