L Taylor

Biography

Hello, my name is L. Taylor and I'm the author of the YA high fantasy, "Epic", which follows a group of teenagers from Earth as they travel through deep space in search of magical objects to help a wronged queen take back the power that is rightfully hers. My other works include a New Adult romance centered around blind dating, titled "93% Chance I Don't Hate You", and a YA horror novella titled "Hunted", about a vampire hunter named Diana who is trying to find the monster that killed her best friend.

As of now, I am working on the sequels to "Epic" and "93% Chance I Don't Hate You" as well as a stand alone YA mystery.

My books are available through Smashwords, Amazon, iBooks, Nook, and many other retailers! For information on where to get them, contact me on Twitter, Wattpad, or my personal blog.

Happy reading!

Smashwords Interview

What motivated you to become an indie author?
I'm black and female, which automatically puts me at a huge disadvantage when it comes to getting an agent and a publisher. On top of that, my novel, Epic, is lead by two LGBT+ women who are also people of color. It was either spend years finding a publisher who would work with me, only for them to try and change everything about my book to make it more acceptable to a mass audience, or keep control of everything and self publish. I chose the route I felt was best for me and the story.
When did you first start writing?
I wrote weird little things as a child but I didn't start taking writing seriously as a career until I was about seventeen or eighteen. From then on, I knew that being a writer was what I wanted out of life.
