I was able to read this book through a request at librarything.com (kind of like First Reads). I don't think I would have picked this book up on my own, but am glad I read it. It was a short book packed with lots of character, family, thoughts of growing up, religion, and justice; overall very thought provoking. I think this book would be a good book club read, but beware there are some graphic parts.
