She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature from New College, Florida, and a Master's degree in Journalism from the University of California/Berkeley. She has worked as a writer and editor for many publications including the Yoga Journal, AM/PM Guide to Northern California and Epicurean Rendezvous Restaurant Guide, with editions for San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City and Florida. She currently lives in Santa Cruz, California.
