How do you approach cover design?
My goal is to combine something from the book with something from my own life that I value. Truthfully, I hope the cover simply doesn't deter readers, as I am constantly growing in my work. I'm working with a graphic artist, but he can only generate what I can visualize.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
The Little Prince - For its quiet satire.
Bone - An epic graphic novel reminiscent of Pogo and the other great comics.
Gandhi's Autobiography - Bringing a figurehead into a human realm.
Anything by Ray Bradbury - I like his tone when approaching the fantastic.
Pride and Prejudice - Another age, another set of problems.
I could go on and on, but that's five.
