Marian L Thomas

Biography

Best-Selling Author | Writer | Wife | Storyteller

Originally from Chicago, but currently resides in Atlanta with her biggest supporter-her husband and their spoiled but playful dog-Winston. Marian received her Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Business Communication, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Her passion for writing first became evident when she began to pen her thoughts into spoken words of poetry, an inheritance from her mother. She has fond memories of watching her father play in live bands as a multi-percussionist. Her journey to publication however, seemed to take hold while she attended college, writing for the Collegian as Sports Editor and later as a News Editor. It was almost twenty-years later when Marian held her first debut title, Color Me Jazzmyne in her hands. She faced many challenges with tears, over came many obstacles with determination, but the day finally came when she could add "best-seller" to her name. Her journey is still going. Marian has been a featured guest on The Chris Treece Show, Black Perl Magazine, BAN Radio, CrossRoadsNews, the Tanya White Show, Skirt! Atlanta Magazine as one of Atlanta's 9to5 Women in the Media Industry, The Award-Winning Morning Show with Host Tron Simpson and many other media outlets.

Many have described her style of writing as emotional and captivating. Her passion for helping victims of child abuse is weaved within the story of Naya Moná, the main character.

“We seem to whisper about child abuse, rather than speak to the reality of it.. If we aren’t willing to scream about it, our children will always remain silent.”

Marian has worked with the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy contributing 15% of her proceeds to help children of sexual abuse begin their journey to survival.
