ABOUT MY WORK
Ever inspired by the greats like Isaac Asimov, I have always been fond of science fiction that focuses equally on science but also the fiction, and isn't afraid of adding a healthy dose of politics and socio-economics. Something that isn't afraid to push the envelope doesn't hurt either.
My first novel, Newfoundland, is a story of social movements, political corruption, love, conspiracy and the devastating effects of violence, set during an ill-fated colonisation of a newly discovered planet. Unsurprisingly, it isn't short on politics and socio-economics. Nor is it afraid of doing its own thing.
I have several others projects on the go. A futuristic detective story brimming with mystery, tension and philosophy. A fast-paced, smart-mouthed look at the effects of celebrity status on the champions of a fictional sport. And, of course, a spiritual successor to Newfoundland of epic proportions.
My aim; pay tribute to the greats of science fiction yet do something new with the genre. To create a bridge for newcomers. And of course, to entertain as many science fiction lovers as possible.
Born in The Netherlands, I moved to Edinburgh at the young age of 13. After high school and university, I did a variety of job in both the financial and catering sectors, before embarking on some travels in the US. I'm currently back in a financial office again.

A new habitable planet is found. Mankind rejoices.
When colonists arrive, a journalist uncovers a huge secret. His team is kidnapped. People die. Earth sends in an ex-detective. He digs too far and gets in way over his head. No one knew the bad guys will stop at nothing to preserve their secret. It can only end one way - violently.
A story of love, corruption and war on an epic scale.
