Mary Davies

Biography

I like to read, write and watch the odd movie - big loves include both fiction and non fiction, children's and adult's.

My food garden keeps me occupied in the weekends; we grow a good amount of the fruit and vegetables that we eat in a year.

Tramping in the bush is something I try to do regularly (my profile photo shows me at the top of a local mountain). I help out with a trapline on a hill close to my home that catches small rodents. Since beginning trapping, the local native bird life has taken off, and you can always watch tui, bellbirds and woodpigeons in the trees.

Another love of my life is geology and I often spend time out and about looking for minerals and fossils, and learning about the processes that made New Zealand form the way it did.
