Surrounded by mysteries, Cassia is torn between two romances -- one with the charming Lyle and the other with his instantly off-putting but strangely compelling brother Kellan. Ghosts, werewolves, secrets of the night... "Silent Moon" is the sort of novel that I could picture Jane Austen's characters or the women in a Bronte novel stealing away to eagerly read in secret. There's a lot of heart in "Silent Moon," especially in the friendship that Cassia develops with the young boy Fen, and I loved the sense of mystery throughout -- which came with an excellent payoff at the end. Sarina Dorie's writing style is light and fun, with a sarcastic edge. I'd be happy to read just about anything by her.

An enjoyable novella that reminded me of The Witch of Blackbird Pond in flavor. I'm always happy to walk through a story with this author's characters -- I found it easy to get caught up in Sarah's plight and her romance with the fallen angel. I also loved the subtle hints at a sci-if edge to this tale.
