Who is MB Steyn and the MBS Foundation?
MBS is the trademark of the MBS Foundation, which is the company / foundation owned by Author Marie-Berdine Steyn (a Writer, Archaeologist and Philanthropist) born in South Africa in 1986.
MBS consist of various Departments:

AN INTERVEIW WITH AUTHOR MARIE-BERDINE STEYN
Why did you become a Writer?
Since I was a small child I was fascinated by the emotions humans displayed and acted from in their daily lives. Although I was at an age where I did not grasp why emotions and feelings ruled humans action so much, I understood that these emotions could create the experiences that form who we are, create our destiny and developed our consciousness into the beings we become.
Since this early age I loved to create in my mind’s eye different worlds, different situations and different outcomes which developed into the desire to write down my ideas and tell my stories to those who had the imagination to appreciate them with me.
I do not proclaim myself a Philosopher, but I do love the tendency of Philosophy to imagine a world which is better than the one we currently occupy. The imagination of humans are limitless, therefore can we create limitlessly. This is my aim; to create stories which are without limit and tell of human actions, human emotions and feelings that can change our consciousness and help us as earthlings evolve towards a destiny which is greater than our most magnificent expectation and in harmony with our greatest and highest being and The Creator of All.

What do you hope to achieve with your books?
The reason for my writing is in the joy of creating something from birth until the age of completion, seeing it go through all the stages of development. There is something very fulfilling about creation, whether this creation is in the form of painting, moulding, sculpting, dreaming, philosophising or writing. But my objective is not only in the joy of creating literature but in the aspect of creating a platform to make a difference in the world we live in today. I’m very much in love with philanthropy, philosophy and the human race as a whole.

What are your greatest dreams?
Like all people in the world I have many dreams, in many forms and in a many different areas of life. The ultimate dream though would be to create my soul/being towards the best I can possibly be in this life that has been granted to me. I enjoy the fulfilment in achieving set goals in life whether this is spiritual, humanitarian, physically or in writing. I have seen many dreams of mine change over time as I have evolved in being, but one dream has always stayed in the back of my mind and that is to bring higher advanced consciousness to all beings on our planet. Of course my mind do not know all the answers. Of course my mind do not understand in completion what makes the universe tic. Of course I do not always fathom what others dream about, but I do know that the greatest joy in life is in the life we create for ourselves and those whom we share our journeys, experiences and happiness with. My writers dream is thus to create a variety of books in a variety of genres that speak to the mind and soul of others. Also do I wish to use the financial income from my books towards my Funds and its causes.

What is your passions?
My Passions in life once again depends on which area in my life we are talking about. My ultimate passion in life is to create experiences I will remember until the day I die, and probably after that. In writing, my passions are Fantasy Fiction and Literary Romance Novels which tells the story of love, faith, destiny, lost chances and ‘average’ human beings achieving almost miraculous feats against their own self-doubt, the world around them, oppression and daunting live circumstances.

You write by the name of MB Steyn and the name of your company is MBS. What is the concept behind your company? And how did you come by the name?
That is indeed true. I write by the name MB Steyn which is also the abbreviation for my company name MBS, since I wanted a company name unique, meaningful to myself and personal to who I am. In the early years of my existence I had no idea that as a writer I will create a company, but later years during my university days at the age 22 I started some adventures in Fashion Design and created a Business concept, from which the name MBS was born. Later I let go of the Fashion aspect of the company since I’m not really into being a fashionista and changed the business concept towards a self-publishing platform.

What is the MBS Foundation and why have you created the MBS Foundation?
Although the MBS Company is only a few years old, the concept for a foundation which supports a variety of causes throughout Southern Africa and the rest of the world, has been a desire of mine since I could remember. From the time I had my first thought as a toddler I felt the need to understand why humans act the way they do and why they believe themselves to be victims of their own created circumstances. I remember then that it was a complete mystery to me, since I perceived the natural world and its consistence to be very simple. As I grew older I learnt about human created and non-created suffering in the form of famine, human sickness, lack of wisdom and knowledge, unfaithfulness, distress and all those negative aspects of life.
With natural instinct at the time, I realized that one of my greatest callings is to help bring about the understanding and tools to change and improve the life of humans, which ultimately impact our planet, animal life and universe.

The MBS Foundation is thus a foundation that gathers financial resources (among other resources) from any MBS Literacy or MBS Products sold and add these financial resources towards a cause which MBS is supporting at the time, or invest these finances for future use should.
The MBS Foundation does not ask for donations, but use a percentage of their sales as a tithe towards the MBS Fund(s).

Is the MBS Foundation a central fund or do you support a variety of causes?
The MBS Foundation is a central fund but also are there sub-funds. This means that although at a specific time all financial contributions might be gathered into a Central Fund, that this can then be distributed to the sub-funds should the need arise or if at a certain time in space there is a need for these funds to be distributed to a certain cause. Although this is the case, authors and clients of MBS may choose to have their ‘donations’ added to a Fund of their choice.
