Mike believes life is a mystery waiting to be engaged by living it fully whenever possible and by reading books with a fresh point of view to fill in the voids.
Since selling a successful software development and marketing business, he has divided his time between writing riveting stories and designing and coding two innovative software products—one to help authors edit more effectively and another to teach readers to scan text faster with better retention.
He patterned his fictional writing style after his favorite authors. From one he learned to make his stories unique throughout. From another, he learned to treat readers as equal partners in the story collaboration process by showing rather than telling them what is taking place so they can use their imaginations to base their opinion on their own life experiences rather than accepting Mike’s personal views. Best of all, they will enjoy what he learned from Poe when he was twelve. They will never know for sure what is coming next, but when the story ends and they look back, they will find all of the clues necessary to guess the ending were there in plain sight.
His non-fiction books offer readers the opportunity to explore new, thought-provoking ways to consider subjects that, to most, aren’t issues because they have accepted as facts the conventional beliefs.
Aurora in Cyberworld
The Internet can be a dangerous place for a child. Aurora in Cyberworld, together with its web site of the same name, was created to help parents/grandparents/guardians start and conduct the conversation about those dangers, and the steps that have been taken to protect them, with the child in their lives.
Kevin Murphy The Quest for Queen Grace's Pardon Begins
The freezing-cold blade moved up and down just enough to attract Kevin's attention. Slowly he looked up to see who was wielding the sword. It had been that kind of week for Kevin. In fact, his current situation seemed trivial compared to the encounters with the Father of Lies and his demons in the past few days and things were about to get much worse as Pirate Queen Grace O'Malley would explain.
Hounded! A Reluctant Spiritual Journey
For many years I was hounded by the question, “Why did Jesus have to die?” At first I ignored it because I believed the answers others gave me was all I needed to know. How foolish to let others answer such an important question for me.
When I invested nine months to scour the Bible myself, I came to a markedly different conclusion than the one I was taught.
See what I discovered.
Kevin Murphy Takes on the Father of Lies
This is the first in a series of six books that pits 15 year old Kevin Murphy against the Father of Lies and all of the creatures, living and dead, who he believes can help him gain his prize—Kevin’s soul. In this book, his problem is compounded by the fact he can’t tell his parents what he is up against because he has a history of telling outrageous stories.
Cutter, My Christmas Gift
Every year tens of thousands of people face their first Christmas following the death of a parent. While a lucky few have no regrets about their choices and actions, many, like Peter Donnelly, are filled with self-reproach and sadness.
