I was very surprised by this novel. There were points where I actually laughed out loud. The characters were endearing and the although covering some underlyingly serious social issues, the story felt fresh. I found this a thoroughly enjoyable read. Thumbs up.
I appreciated the character development and found the family dynamics in this story insightful. I loved the anthropologic perspective the main character brought to this story. Additionally, the creatures in this story are just fascinating.
This was an interesting story. There was a lot in there. It was inspiring and hopeful. The dynamics between the characters felt very real and I could see a lot of myself in the main character. It's great to read a science fiction tale with so much character depth and believability.
Fable-like story made for an enjoyable read. Half-elf, magical flowers, spells, and a castle! The rift between the brothers and the question of whether or not the main character would find redemption, kept me engaged.
This was a great follow-up to Otters in Space. A fun space adventure filled with surprising depth. I absolutely love how the perspective changes from Kipper's character to Trudith's character every other chapter. Having the dog perspective is hilarious. I found myself laughing out loud a lot while reading this book. So refreshing!
