  • The Key of Kilenya on Sep. 23, 2012
    (no rating)
I wanted to read the next books in the series, so I just re-read The Key of Kilenya to refresh my memory on the characters and events. Now, I've already read this book, yet I couldn't put it down! It is gripping all the way through. It moves very quickly from adventure to adventure. There is no rest till the end of the book. I can picture all the characters because they are described so well, from the Minyas to the Fat Lady. This could be too scary for younger childen, but pre-teens and teens should love it. My son thought it was great!

  • August Fortress, Kilenya Series Book Three on Sep. 27, 2012

I just finished August Fortress and I feel like an addict. In less than a week, I re-read the Key of Kilenya and the Ember Gods to refresh my memory and then August Fortress. I kept trying to limit my reading time, but the nail-biting suspense had me hooked. I now know that I can’t let my 13 year old son read it until a weekend comes up where he has no homework or chores! Jacob is a typical teenager with worries about school, friendships, sports, attractions, and being far too busy. Added to all this is another life only his family knows about, where he has superhero type powers that he doesn’t understand and monsters to conquer. He rarely has time to rest as he tries to help people of another world survive. Fortunately, this is a series, so I can go back to my own busy life – until the next one comes out!
  • A Candlelight Courting: A Short Christmas Romance on Oct. 17, 2013

I loved this book! I needed a short read, so was attracted to that. I am also happy that no previous reviews gave anything away. The mystery mixed with the romance added to my eager reading. I am sure I will continue thinking about this for days!
